In case you missed our February 12 program, the above picture is worth a thousand words.
Tolstoy wrote: “As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields.” Join us for a lively discussion of the connections between animal exploitation, human injustice, and war.
What is veganism? Why does veganism deserve a place at the table with other social justice movements?
We’ll discuss how animal agriculture and agribusiness drives climate change, environmental and ecosystem degradation, species extinction, ocean death, world hunger, resource wars, conflict and climate refugees, poverty and food injustice in less-developed nations, and food deserts in our inner cities. Of course human health concerns are directly attributable to animal-based diets. Violence toward our animal kin comes full circle to literally set the table for violence and injustice toward fellow humans.
